Well they might live in one of the 25 most expensive residential listings currently for sale in New York City!

1 12-16 East 62nd Street

$120,000,000

This Upper East Side three-townhouse combo took the honor of being NYC’s priciest listing in June. According to the broker-babble, it could be used for a “palatial single family mansion, club, embassy, or retail space,” and between them, the homes have 11 terraces, dozens of bedrooms and common areas, and an unbelievable 30,581 square feet of space. Congratulations, UES megamansion, on being perhaps the most absurd home in all of New York City.

2 The Sherry-Netherland

$86,000,000

The 18th-floor apartment of the Sherry-Netherland is trying again to become the city’s priciest co-op, a distinction that’s now held by the former home of New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, whose co-op sold for $77.5 million. The 15-room Sherry Netherland co-op last sold in March 2015 for $67.5 million to Genever Holdings, LLC, who then put the apartment back on the market in March.

3 The Atelier

$85,000,000

In 2013, the developers behind the Atelier decided to list all nine units on the building’s 45th floor as one mega-sale, hoping that a mega-rich buyer would snap it up for $85 million. No one has bitten so far, and the ask hasn’t lowered in three years. But, the apartment now comes with some sweet (read: completely outrageous) perks. Here’s a smattering: a $1M yacht with docking fees for 5 years, two Rolls Royce Phantoms (one convertible and one hardtop because of course), dinner for two every week at Daniel for one year, a year of courtside season tickets to the Brooklyn Nets, and a Hamptons summer rental mansion with live in butler services and a private chef for one year.

4 8 East 62nd Street

$84,500,000

Developer Keith Rubenstein put his 1903 Beaux Arts mansionon the market in February for a whopping $84.5 million. The pricetag not only delivers the 15,000 square foot limestone mansion, but the over-the-top finishes Rubenstein’s added to the property like red Hermès leather wall coverings, a temperature-controlled vault for furs, a Bizmet cosmetics refrigerator, and marquetry floors in the dining room inspired by the floors of Pavlovsk Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia.

5 12 East 63rd Street

$84,500,000

Five years after the townhouse between Fifth and Madison avenues sold for $20 million, it arrived back on the market in November asking $77 million. So what merits a $57 million price hike? A renovation by Canadian architect Armand Dadoun, including a basement spa with a 20-foot swimming pool, a three-story greenhouse, and house-wide radiant heated floors, apparently.

6 San Remo

$75,000,000

If you’ve got $75 million, you could live in the apartment once owned by Demi Moore. The actress’s triplex penthouse in the south tower of the famed San Remo was officially listed in April 2015, and has sat on the market since. The “floating mansion” (the broker’s words, not ours) overlooks Central Park, has a double-height foyer, and has wraparound terraces.

7 Ritz Carlton Residences

$75,000,000

Last year, the penthouse atop the Ritz Carlton at Battery Park City was a three-penthouse combo listed for $118.5 million—at the time, it was officially the most expensive listing in the city. But times have changed, and so has the market: This penthouse is now a duplex, and the price has been knocked down to $75 million. But the brokerbabble still says that the apartments can be “seamlessly combined to create an unparalleled oasis and true trophy home.” Duly noted.

8 23 East 22nd Street

$72,000,000

The former One Madison Park has, against all odds, become a success story, and the 7,600-square-foot penthouse became one of NYC’s blockbusters when it went on the market for $72 million in April. For that price, you get panoramic city views, a private elevator, and access to “a private residents-only club.”

9 50 United Nations Plaza

$70,000,000

In July, the duplex penthouse of Norman Foster’s east side tower went on the market—with, as promised, a private pool with Manhattan views. The $70 million apartment has four bedrooms plus staff quarters, a 525-square-foot north-facing terrace, and a 10,000-pound stainless steel spiral staircase that leads up to the 43rd floor, where the pool will be accessible either through a master bedroom sitting area or media room.

10 The Pierre

$70,000,000

The 16-room duplex on the 30th and 31st floors of the Pierre Hotel that was formerly owned by late financier Lionel Pincus is back on the market after being listed and delisted in 2014. It has the same asking price—$70 million—the same listing photos, and the same scandalous backstory.
