Title Charges and Fees

Update July 6, 2018: State of New York Supreme Court Judge Eileen Rakower, in the Article 78 Proceeding between the New York State Land Title Association and New York State Department of Financial Services, ruled in favor of the title insurance industry and annulled the Regulation 208 impediments concerning allowable ancillary fees that title insurance companies can charge.

That said, Hallmark Abstract Service will continue to set fees at arguably the lowest levels in the industry!

Update December 18, 2017: While Hallmark Abstract Service as a company has always had some of the lowest ancillary charges and ‘junk fees’ in the New York State title insurance market, as of December 18, 2017 the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYSDFS) has standardized and capped what companies may charge. NYSDFS Regulation 208 in its entirety can be read here.

The price list below is current as of 09/29/2020.

Title Premiums and the Reissue Rate

As long as a borrower meets eligibility requirements they will be provided the reissue rate. Qualification for the reissue rate (provided the borrower has remained on title with no deed transfers) is predicated on the borrower having purchased or refinanced their home within 10-years of the current transaction
